The mind-matter unification talk of the theory of condensedmatter, a talk concerned primarily with the attempt to understand from theviewpoint of the theoretical physicist, what may loosely be characterised asintelligent processes in nature, associated with brain function or with someother natural process.

Brief Bio:

Bian David Josephson FRS is a world-famoustheoretical physicist at the University of Cambridge (at the CavendishLaboratory, Cambridge). Best known for his pioneering work on superconductivityand quantum tunnelling, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1973 forhis prediction of the Josephson effect, made in 1962 when he was a 22-year-oldPhD student at Cambridge University. Josephson is the only Welshman to have wona Nobel Prize in Physics. He shared the prize with physicists Leo Esaki andIvar Giaever, who jointly received half the award for their own work on quantumtunnelling.

JudithDriscoll, Ph.D., Professor of University of Cambridge

Editor-in-Chief, APL Materials – AIP Publishing

Gettingyour research published is the number one priority for most scientists.  Having your results appear in a peer-reviewedjournal, validates your work and provides you with what you need to advance inyour career.  Navigating the publishinglandscape can be challenging but it is not impossible.  Prof. Judith Driscoll, Editor-in-Chief APL Materials at AIP Publishing willgive an insider’s look into scientific publishing.
